Smith Family Zoo
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming, "WOW, WHAT A RIDE!"

House for Sale
4th of July 2007
We had a good 4th. Alysha, Shane, and I stayed at home that day and waited for Terry and Travis to get home. They didn't make in time for the city's fireworks, so we went to the fairgrounds and watched them anyway. They made it home right afterwards though. That was ok. They made it in time to shoot our fireworks off. That was a good thing, because I don't really like to. Neither does Shannon, so she brought theirs over and let the kids shoot their fireworks at our house.
Many hands make light work
Painting the house was a HUGE job. I am glad it is almost over. We have the house completely painted. Now I am just working on the trim. That is actually worse for me than the house. There isn't as much of it, but it takes just as much time. The kids did a great job helping. Of course they ended up with paint from stem to stern. I sware Shane stuck his brush in the paint up to his elbow.
In case you were wondering what to do.............

Greeley Weekend-Boondocks
When we went to Greeley, we were there for four days. Thursday we got checked into the room and in complete girl fashion, I asked to go shopping!! At a REAL mall. We had a nice Chinese dinner and got settled into our room. Friday we got up early and had breakfast so we could head to Estes Park for the day. We had to be back to Greeley in time to get ready for the concert. And it was a wonderful concert. Trace Adkins is too much for words. Terry wondered how he did what he did with his hips and wanted to know why he couldn't do it too. :=) Oh yeah, Teri Clark was nice too. Saturday we slept in and enjoyed a late breakfast. It was supposed to get hot, and it did. It was 100 that day. So we weren't sure if we wanted to go see a movie where it is cooler or if we wanted to brave the heat and go to Boondocks. Well, as you can see we opted for Boondocks. It was a blast! My favorite part was the batting cages. I really miss the batting cages. You know being "rural" and all. Terry loved the go carts. He lovingly named his car "The Slug." After the go-carts we went miniature golfing. That was fun. Terry tried to keep score for the first hole or two and then realized with me it was pretty much a lost cause. After all that fun we met up with Aaron and Janice Kent, who we met a few years ago camping, and had dinner at the Road House in Greeley. We then followed them home to their house and had margaritas and a REALLY long game of Uno. It was a blast! We unfortunately had to get up and get ready to head home Sunday. Back to reality. I will say we took our sweet time though. We enjoyed another late breakfast and just lounged for a while and enjoyed the surroundings.
Greeley Weekend-Estes Park
We had such a good time in Estes Park. We walked all over. We found a cute little Mexican restaurant for lunch. Some guys from Texas sat beside us and they took a picture of us. The margarita was wonderful. If you notice I have a death grip on it :0) Terry wanted to ride the tram to the top of the mountain. I couldn't afford all the margaritas it would have taken for me to go. Although, our Texas neighbors told me not to worry they had reached their death quota for the month so I would be fine. For some reason that did not help much.
