Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming, "WOW, WHAT A RIDE!"

House for Sale

Well, there is a reason we have done so much to the house in such a short amount of time. We are hoping to sell it.....We would like to have it sold and move before school starts. We will just have to see how it all works out. Isn't it amazing what a coat of paint will do for a girl?!?

4th of July 2007

We had a good 4th. Alysha, Shane, and I stayed at home that day and waited for Terry and Travis to get home. They didn't make in time for the city's fireworks, so we went to the fairgrounds and watched them anyway. They made it home right afterwards though. That was ok. They made it in time to shoot our fireworks off. That was a good thing, because I don't really like to. Neither does Shannon, so she brought theirs over and let the kids shoot their fireworks at our house.

Oh, them Smith boys....

Aren't they handsome? Terry bought them all new hats for the 4th.

Painting the house was a HUGE job. I am glad it is almost over. We have the house completely painted. Now I am just working on the trim. That is actually worse for me than the house. There isn't as much of it, but it takes just as much time. The kids did a great job helping. Of course they ended up with paint from stem to stern. I sware Shane stuck his brush in the paint up to his elbow.

In case you were wondering what to do.............

I love this picture. It is definately a "Here's your sign" moment.......What is sad is there must of been a need for it.

Greeley Weekend-Boondocks

When we went to Greeley, we were there for four days. Thursday we got checked into the room and in complete girl fashion, I asked to go shopping!! At a REAL mall. We had a nice Chinese dinner and got settled into our room. Friday we got up early and had breakfast so we could head to Estes Park for the day. We had to be back to Greeley in time to get ready for the concert. And it was a wonderful concert. Trace Adkins is too much for words. Terry wondered how he did what he did with his hips and wanted to know why he couldn't do it too. :=) Oh yeah, Teri Clark was nice too. Saturday we slept in and enjoyed a late breakfast. It was supposed to get hot, and it did. It was 100 that day. So we weren't sure if we wanted to go see a movie where it is cooler or if we wanted to brave the heat and go to Boondocks. Well, as you can see we opted for Boondocks. It was a blast! My favorite part was the batting cages. I really miss the batting cages. You know being "rural" and all. Terry loved the go carts. He lovingly named his car "The Slug." After the go-carts we went miniature golfing. That was fun. Terry tried to keep score for the first hole or two and then realized with me it was pretty much a lost cause. After all that fun we met up with Aaron and Janice Kent, who we met a few years ago camping, and had dinner at the Road House in Greeley. We then followed them home to their house and had margaritas and a REALLY long game of Uno. It was a blast! We unfortunately had to get up and get ready to head home Sunday. Back to reality. I will say we took our sweet time though. We enjoyed another late breakfast and just lounged for a while and enjoyed the surroundings.

Greeley Weekend-Estes Park

We had such a good time in Estes Park. We walked all over. We found a cute little Mexican restaurant for lunch. Some guys from Texas sat beside us and they took a picture of us. The margarita was wonderful. If you notice I have a death grip on it :0) Terry wanted to ride the tram to the top of the mountain. I couldn't afford all the margaritas it would have taken for me to go. Although, our Texas neighbors told me not to worry they had reached their death quota for the month so I would be fine. For some reason that did not help much.

Happy 4th of July!!

Webfetti.com

Terry and Travis are on their way home. They should be home in time for the fireworks. Hopefully. I hate being in charge of the fireworks. Mom is kind of boring that way. In my opinion that is the reason dad's were invented; taking out the garbage and blowing things up.

Who knew a bicycle could go 4 wheelin. His bike is actually green. I think boys have a genetic sensor that locates the largest puddle of mud in a tri-county radius.

Locks of Love

Alysha decided her hair was getting too long and wanted to cut some off. Bless her heart she had heard about Locks of Love for cancer patients and decided she would like to donate her hair. That ment she had to cut off 10 inches. She did it though.

Unexpected Visitor

Mid-May Alysha had her end of year chior concert at the high school. After the concert we returned home to find this feathery friend in her room. It was a warm day so I left the back door open for the animals. I do this quite often. I have never had any suprises, until that day. You would think with 3 dogs and a cat that a bird would not be too interested in coming in for a visit. I guess I was wrong. In fact, Alysha had gone into her room and said, "Mom, there is a bird in my room." I didn't think too much about it. Chloe-Dawn (the cat) often brings us special treasures. I will say they are always DEAD. So when I walked in her room to see what I needed to get it out of there I was astonished. Once I stopped laughing at the poor frightened creature, I was able to catch it in a fishing net and set in free in the front yard.

Soccer Champ 2007

Shane loves to play soccer. This was his 4th year and he really has come along way. He gives the other team a real run for their money. =0)
